What is a Coach?

A coach provides the environment for the coachee to explore their thoughts that will lead to change and growth.

As a coach, I listen to my clients.

Rather than jump in and tell them what to do,  I respect my client's ability to articulate their thoughts, their concerns, their hopes. As a listener, I have heard the most amazing stories of dreams long buried now pushing to the surface, as well as horrifying stories of hopes that will never become reality requiring a new strategy to be born.

As a coach, I ask questions.

The questions ask the coachee to look behind the surface thought, the pat answer, perhaps even to the lie they have told themselves for a long time. Questions let the heart seek truth without fear of judgment.

As a coach, I hear my clients create their plan, tangible next steps, that move from where they are to where they want to be. The plan propels them out of being stuck to being an active participant in their future that aligns with their aspirations.

And as a coach, I walk alongside them, with accountability and responsibility remaining within the client, the owner of the dreams, thoughts and the next steps.
